My Life - Final Project

This was our final project for this trimester. I have chose 4 different song: first was Summer Hair = Forever Young by The Academy Is..., second was Yellow by Coldplay, third was The Mixed Tape by Jack's Mannequin, and finally I chose With You by Sum 41. I chose them because I wanted to mix some happy songs along with some slow songs. Finding information for 1994 was not hard, I just typed in the Google search place, because I use Google a lot, and found them. The search terms I used were "average price in 1994", "average price of bread in 1994" and more. I didn't find any unreliable sources. I didn't use any pictures that aren't mine. I used IMovie, Powerpoint, and Son of Citation Machine for this project. I think what I did well on it was putting the picture together along with the music. What I struggled on this was probably the information part, because it costed me some time to find them all. Yes, I did use a lot of still slides, and the reason for that is because they are easier to put in IMovie. But I also put in 2 videos of mine. The videos were recorded in Photobooth, then I just dragged them into Imovie. The theme I chose from the beginning was Photo album in IMovie, I chose that because there are a lot of pictures, and so I thought that would be appropriate. Overall, this project can also be used for all types of classes, especially presentation or speech. For the information part, even though I saw them online, I used my own words to put them together later. Finally, I would do another project like this on my own because it's fun, and it's very useful.

Music Genome Post

For my music genre project, I chose techno. I've heard of techno before, but I've never really listened to it, and this time, while I was searching for information and songs about techno, it caught my interest. I think techno is catchy and fun to listen. They are the perfect songs for when you feel like dancing, or at a party or whenever. I think I did well on this project, because I was interested in the subject. I used Microsoft Powerpoint and iMovie. I spent about 6 hours on this project, but in the end it was all worth it. :)

IMovie Project

Recently we have continued and finished the IMovie project storyboard. Our group chose art as our subject, and this time, we have interviewed a couple of art students and one art teacher. We asked them a few simple questions- "What is your favorite part of art class?" and "Do you want to use it in the future?" They answered very well. Then we put the clips together, mixing a couple of art slide-shows also, and finished our project. Our group members were me, Lindsay, and Ava. I think we did a good job overall, and I am looking forward for another project like this one. :)

Voice Podcast

We did the voice podcast project last week, and basically I just chose a movie, recorded my voice, and added pictures and music to it.
1.  What tools and techniques did you use to create your podcast?
I used GarageBand, Itunes, and Quicktime Player to create my podcast. Mainly I used GarageBand, and in that I added songs from the library to my podcast.
2.  How could you use a project like this in other classes?

I could use a project like this by using it in another project or assignment. Or while I am presenting something.
3.  In the “real world”, how could podcast projects be used (In what careers/businesses, etc.)?

They could be used in radio stations and some TV channels.
4.  What part of the assignment was easy for you?   What was difficult?

The easiest part was putting the music and pictures together. The difficult part was recording my voice, because I kept messing up.
5.  What part of the directions would you like to clarify?

Not much really, because GarageBand was pretty easy to figure out, but the directions did help.

Slide-show Entry

I wasn't here for most of the time when we were assigned to the side-show project, but I did help with a thing or two.  Lindsay was the leader of us 3-people group, I was the creative director (at least I think that was what my role was called), and Ava was the information specialist. Lindsay chose Art for our group, which was perfect, since I love anything that has to do with art. We put a couple of information and pictures together, and before I knew it, the slide-show was pretty much done. The backgrounds we chose were pretty cool, some were abstract and others were geometric designs. The next time when we were doing something like this, I'm gonna try my best to at least be here, choose stuff, and participate more. :)

IPhoto Name Blog

Recently we did a project on finding your name with nature pictures. I think this is my favorite project to do in Technology class so far! :) I loved it. I'm into creative projects, so this is like a breath of fresh air for me, since so many of my teachers like us to do boring projects. I spent a lot of time finding the pictures, but in the end it was all worth it. Then I put it in Iphoto, and  inserted my favorite song in the background- Say by John Mayer. I hope the projects we do in the future will be as fun as this one.

M&M Project

I had fun during the M&M project. Partly because I got to eat them, but the other part is because I have learned how to use Microsoft Excel. I've never used it before, but Lindsay taught me how, and I used it for the first time. Creating the pie chart for the data was somewhat a challenge for me, but I managed to do it in the end. I think Excel is a good program to use, and I'm sure we'll use it more in the future. I wish we can have more projects like this. This project was kind of easy, but fun. :)
